Y’all. The day has arrived. Disney just dropped the 2026 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party details and I have been waiting very impatiently for this information and now that it’s here I am fully in my feelings about it. This is my favorite Disney event of the entire year and I am going for the third time this fall, so trust me when I say I have been refreshing Disney’s website with embarrassing frequency.
Let’s get into everything we know right now, dates, tickets, what’s new, what’s returning, and all the details you need to start planning. I’ll keep this post updated as more information becomes available, especially when the exclusive food and snack lineup drops, because that is a whole separate event I will absolutely be covering.
🎃The Dates: August 7 Through October 31, 2026🎃
First and most importantly, the dates. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2026 runs from August 7 through October 31, on select nights only. That August 7 start date is the earliest MNSSHP has ever kicked off, over a week earlier than last year’s start date of August 15, and earlier than 2024’s start of August 9. Disney is giving us more Halloween party nights than ever and I am absolutely here for it.
Party nights are not every night. They’re on select evenings throughout August, September, and October. In August and September, parties run on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a Thursday night party on September 24th as well. October parties include most Thursdays plus Saturday, October 31st, Halloween night itself.
🎃 Party runs: August 7 through October 31, 2026
🎃 August & September party nights: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (plus Thursday, September 24)
🎃 October party nights: Most Thursdays, plus Halloween night — October 31
Pro tip: The most popular party dates, Saturday nights, dates in October, and Halloween itself, will sell out first and cost the most. If you have flexibility in your dates, a Tuesday or Sunday party in September will be less crowded and less expensive than an October Saturday. September is also my personal sweet spot for MNSSHP, lower crowds, slightly cooler weather, and the fall energy is just right.
🎃Tickets: On Sale Soon – Don’t Wait🎃
Ticket prices for MNSSHP 2026 range from $119 to $229 per person depending on the date, plus tax. As always, more popular dates cost more. Expect Halloween night and October weekend dates to be at the higher end of that range, while August and early September dates will be more budget-friendly.
Here’s when you can buy: Disney resort hotel guests get early access starting May 5, 2026. All other guests can purchase starting May 12, 2026. If you are staying on Disney property, and you should be, as we have discussed at length, use that early access window. Log in on May 5, pick your date, and buy immediately.
Annual Passholders and eligible Disney Vacation Club members can save $10 per ticket on select dates from August 7 through October 2, 2026, worth knowing about if either of those applies to you.

🎃 All other guests: tickets on sale May 12, 2026
🎃 Price range: $119 to $229 per person depending on date
🎃 Annual Passholder/DVC discount: $10 off per ticket for select dates August 7 – October 2
Pro tip: Party tickets sell out, especially for October dates and Halloween night. I cannot stress this enough: the moment your ticket window opens on May 5 or May 12, have your date chosen and your payment ready. This is not a “I’ll get to it next week” situation. Buy immediately.
🎃Party Hours and Early Entry🎃
The party officially runs from 7 p.m. to midnight. But guests with MNSSHP tickets can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m., giving you three bonus hours in the park before the event officially begins.
As I always say and will keep saying: arrive before that 4 p.m. early entry window opens. My strategy is to be in the queue around 3 p.m. so I’m near the front when early entry starts. Those first few hours, 4 to 7 p.m., are prime time for riding attractions, picking up merchandise before it sells out, and getting your party snack priorities sorted before the full evening crowd arrives.
If you plan to be in Magic Kingdom before 4 p.m., you’ll need a regular park ticket in addition to your party ticket. If you’re arriving at 4 p.m. specifically for the party, your party ticket is all you need.
🎃What’s NEW for 2026: A Masquerade With Stitch🎃
Here is the brand new addition I am genuinely excited about: A Masquerade with Stitch. This is a new evening experience at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland where Stitch, alongside Lilo and Angel, hosts an ever-changing masquerade party. After getting his paws on Lilo’s Costume Trunk, every accessory Stitch tries on sparks a theme swap, keeping the whole experience playfully unpredictable throughout the night.
Honestly? Stitch hosting a chaotic, ever-changing masquerade where no one knows what’s coming next sounds completely perfect for his character and I am very much here for it. This is the kind of creative, character-driven entertainment addition that makes MNSSHP feel fresh even for repeat visitors like me.
Pro tip: New entertainment at MNSSHP draws crowds, especially early in the season when everyone wants to see what it’s about. If A Masquerade with Stitch is on your must-see list, check the evening schedule when you arrive and stake out your spot early, or catch it later in the night when the initial excitement has settled.
🎃Returning Favorites: Everything You Love Is Back🎃
All the classic MNSSHP experiences are returning for 2026 and I could not be more relieved to confirm it. Here’s what’s coming back:
Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade returns and the Headless Horseman still leads it on horseback. This is the non-negotiable of non-negotiables for me and I will be staking out my Main Street spot well before parade time, same as every year. The parade also features a full cast of Disney friends in Halloween costumes including Minnie Mouse, Clarabelle Cow, and Daisy Duck dressed as the Sanderson Sisters, plus the Hitchhiking Ghosts and the ghostly Bride representing the Haunted Mansion. It is spectacular every single time.
Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular returns at Cinderella Castle Stage, the Sanderson Sisters are back hosting their wickedly fun show with appearances from Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent. Wild visual projections, live dancers, and the Castle as your backdrop. A complete non-negotiable.
Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks return hosted by Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas, with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy getting swept away to a haunted house full of dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts, and Disney villains. Disney fireworks over Magic Kingdom are always spectacular, and the Halloween version is something extra special.
Trick-or-treating returns throughout the park with candy stations in every land. Grab your candy bag when you arrive, even if candy isn’t your main priority, it’s a charming tradition and a free souvenir that’s worth having. And for guests with food allergies, Disney offers a teal trick-or-treat bag system, ask a cast member for a teal bag, collect teal tokens at treat stations, and redeem them at Allergy-Friendly Centers for special treats. Disney’s allergy awareness at this event is thoughtful and genuinely appreciated.
Attractions with Frightful Flair are back too. Space Mountain runs in pitch-black darkness with spooky tunes, Mad Tea Party gets special Halloween lighting effects, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor serves as a trick-or-treat location with a Halloween twist. Most of the major Magic Kingdom rides operate during party hours including Tron Lightcycle / Run, The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight, and more.
Pro tip: The Haunted Mansion during MNSSHP season runs its Nightmare Before Christmas-themed overlay, a completely different visual and musical experience layered over the classic ride. Ride it multiple times if you can. It is only available during Halloween party season and it is absolutely worth it.
🎃Characters in Halloween Costumes🎃

One of my favorite things about MNSSHP is that characters appear in exclusive Halloween costumes that you simply will not find at any other Disney event. Disney hasn’t released the full 2026 character lineup yet, but based on prior years expect a mix of beloved classic characters in festive Halloween outfits and some rare character appearances that are specific to the party.
Take the time to do at least one or two character meets during the party. Lines tend to be shorter than during regular park hours, especially while the parade and the castle show are running. The photos you’ll get are unique to this event and genuinely special.
🎃Exclusive Food and Merchandise: Details Coming Soon🎃
Here’s the part where I have to exercise patience I genuinely do not have. The 2026 exclusive party food and merchandise lineups have not been fully released yet as of this post. Disney has confirmed that party-exclusive food and snacks will be available and has shared a first look at some 2026 merchandise, but the full food menu hasn’t dropped.
I will be updating this post the moment that information is released and I’ll be covering it in a dedicated post because the MNSSHP food and merchandise reveal deserves its own full breakdown. Subscribe to the blog and follow along on social media so you don’t miss it when the details drop.
What I can tell you from prior years: budget specifically for party-exclusive snacks and get the popcorn bucket. The exclusive MNSSHP popcorn bucket sells out and is worth picking up early in the evening. The exclusive food items are creative and delicious and knowing what you want before you arrive means you don’t miss anything.
Pro tip: Once the 2026 food and snack lineup is announced, I’ll publish a full dedicated post covering everything you need to know, what to prioritize, where to find it, and what to budget. Stay tuned.
🎃What to Wear: Costumes Are the Best Part🎃
Adults are fully encouraged to wear costumes at MNSSHP and I cannot recommend it enough. The collective costumed energy of the party is something genuinely special and people go all out, the creativity is incredible, and there is a shared joy in being surrounded by other adults who love Disney as much as you do and are not embarrassed about it.
I’m going as Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog this fall and my best friend will be Hades from Hercules. We have been planning this since before the 2026 details even dropped. Villain era, fully committed.
A few important costume reminders: check Disney’s current costume guidelines before your trip, no masks that cover your full face, nothing that drags on the ground, nothing that could be confused with a cast member uniform. And wear comfortable shoes. I know the costume has a specific shoe situation. Your feet are going to be walking miles in this park. Plan accordingly and your feet will thank you at hour five.
🎃The Bottom Line: Book It Now🎃
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2026 is shaping up to be one of the best years yet, the earliest start date in party history, a brand new Stitch masquerade experience, all the returning favorites that make this event so beloved, and what I expect will be an incredible food and merchandise lineup once those details drop.
If you’re planning a fall Disney trip, build MNSSHP into your dates and buy your tickets the moment your window opens. This event sells out. The popular dates go fast. And once you experience it, the Headless Horseman, the Hocus Pocus show, the Halloween fireworks, the costumes, all of it, you will understand completely why I keep coming back year after year.
See you at the party, besties. 🎃🏰
